Experiencing the pre launch press meet with poet, Editor, Journalist Vaijayantee Bhattacharya turned to be awesome one as she gifted her city her first poetry anthology, MOSAIC VISION on last 23rd July at the Oxford Bookstore.
She is an Indian who has been living in Bahrain since 2010. She was born and brought up in Calcutta and has spent 24 years of her life in her City Of Joy. She completed her Masters in English from The University of Calcutta, and then she left Kolkata for work in Delhi. Poetry has always been her first love, she has written poems for several anthologies.
The press meet organized by Sufia Khatoon started with a warm welcome note from her. Then the question answer session and the interactions between media and Vaijayantee Bhattacharya lasted for the next 45 minutes.
Vaijayantee’s first poetry book is a collection of poems across various years, moods and reflections that record the emotional evolution of a perceptive woman, as she sailed across cities and continents riding upon the waves of life. Through her conversation we came to know the various aspects about the book, they form a beautiful mosaic pattern that helps the reader get a wholesome understanding of a modern woman.
After the pre launch press meet, the session was followed by the official unveiling of the book in the presence of Jawhar Sircar,. Dr Sanjukta Dasgupta, Professor (Eng Dept.-Calcutta University), Mr. Shahenshah Mirza, descendant of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, Social and Green Activist, Saira Shah Halim, Educator, activist and poet and Saheli Mitra, Journalist, author, poet and columnist.
